Merivale is the epitome of aspiration for Christchurch home owners. With the most historic and grandest houses, it is not surprising that it is also the most expensive area. As a result, choosing the type of development in this area is a very important decision.
Our recommendation to the client was to not build terraced houses, but instead to build three small standalone villas. Despite being small, each 150m² dwelling comprises 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and a garage, which can easily satisfy the needs of middle-income families. Viewing from the outside, the three buildings have different forms, alternating between flat roofs and sloping roofs. The exclusively designed gardens and fences enclose the buildings into an artistic micro environment, giving habitants a sense of comfort, eloquence, and pride.
